With plans to increase their global turnover, while maintaining the high level of quality in their products that had caused their business to prosper in the first place, they needed a new solution.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"#French\">French version<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Being responsive was one of their key objectives in adopting a digital design flow. \u201cResponsiveness has always been one of our major strengths. If one of our customers sees their order book increasing, we bend over backwards to meet their needs and avoid slowing down their production,\u201d explains Christophe Poirier, Technical Manager.<\/p>\n<p>Another objective was to maintain control of all of their product parts. \u201cIt is a matter of principle that each product leaving our premises has been tested to ensure exemplary quality,\u201d says Poirier.<\/p>\n<p>EFA France carried out an exhaustive benchmarking study of the main electrical solutions on the market, and decided that Zuken\u2019s E3.series best fitted their current and future needs.<\/p>\n<h3>Specialist supplier<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-9575\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.zuken.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/efa-controls-harness-300x198.jpg\" alt=\"EFA Controls\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" \/>A specialist in automotive electrical and electronics systems, EFA was founded in 1999 in Germany, and its French operations launched in 2004. Their main business activities are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Production \/ integration of simple and complex assemblies, and vehicle installations for wiring and assembly of electrical and electronic subassemblies.<\/li>\n<li>Project management of entire complex projects, from specification to mass production.<\/li>\n<li>Supply of single components and complete solutions for human machine interface products, such as sensors, screens, controllers and joysticks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>The key reasons EFA chose Zuken\u2019s E3.series include<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The proven stability of the E3.series platform<\/li>\n<li>Ability to carry out native 3D design in E3.panel, which allows them to cover the entire process; from design to the generation of job descriptions for manufacturing.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage cable, panel and electrical schematics in a single tool, offering an end-to-end design process.<\/li>\n<li>Zuken France \u2013 a local team offering expert support in French language.<\/li>\n<li>Zuken\u2019s strong financial structure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There were also some reasons relating to the approach Zuken took towards EFA as a new customer:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cZuken carried out an in-depth analysis, which meant they precisely mapped our objectives and processes. They were intent on understanding the complexities of our business \u2013 not just in terms of our ECAD requirements \u2013 but our needs as a manufacturing company. They took time to find out our business goals and aspirations from a high-level perspective before they moved on to find out our technical requirements,\u201d says Poirier.<\/p>\n<p>Plus, the personal aspects of business cannot be understated in France.<\/p>\n<p>Poirier continues: \u201cFor us as a medium-sized company it is very important that we get on with the people we choose to work with. Zuken took plenty of time to get to know us before we met in person, and were happy to give us a detailed history of their company and tell us about customers they were working with in France. We were reassured by the fact that other local companies in our sector had good experiences with E3.series.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Since using E3.series EFA has achieved the following benefits<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Less rework and time savings:<\/strong> If manufacturing makes a change, they can do so using the existing structure with no rework, and they can make comments within the drawing about their changes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>An increase in performance<\/strong> relating to project delivery, meaning EFA can give a more reliable guarantee of their manufacturing deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>A further <strong>increase in process and product quality<\/strong>.
